Mohs Micrographic Surgery Pearls

Mohs micrographic surgery has evolved over the last 60 years from fixed-tissue chemosurgery with secondary intention healing to fresh-tissue surgical excision utilizing advanced histotechnology and reconstructive techniques. This evolution has occurred while preserving the fundamental characteristics of Mohs surgery: microscopically controlled tumor excision by one surgeon acting as pathologists to ensure complete tumor extirpation while maximally conserving tissue.
